I have a hotmail email account. Yesterday it sent a spam mail to everyone in my address book; it was a shopping web site.

How do i clear it out to get rid of what every is in my account.

Also when i open a new message to write an email there is a paragraph(also shopping spam) that automatically comes up. How do i get rid of that?

I think you should assume that you have a virus on your computer. What antivirus software is on the computer and is it up-to-date? For starters - download, install, update & run Malwarebytes and report back.

Can you post a copy of the spam e-mail and also the paragraph that comes up in new e-mails?

    Your password is probably compromised.

    Change your password.

I will do that when I get home this evening.

I'll change my password as well.

Think the problem started when I posted my email on a French web site trying to sell rugby tickets of a game in France. Got a mail saying someone was messing with my paypal account, but nothing came of that.

    I have bullgaurd

What have you tried so far? Did you run Malwarebytes yet?

Do definitely change your Hotmail password as well just to be sure. I don't personally use Hotmail but if new e-mails are pre-filled with the spam text paragraph then is it possible that there's some form of signature facility in Hotmail that might contain this text?

Password changed. Paragraph removed, It was in my personal signature on hotmail, so that is sorted.

Running Malwearbytes at the moment. ran a full scan, 15 minutes in 8 objects found.not sure how long more it will take.

    What's the log bhinkey.

It's a text record of the Malwarebytes scan results. When Malwarebytes is finished, save a copy of the log on the Desktop. By defaul the log is saves in Mallwarebyte's application data folder but it's handier just to save a copy on the desktop.

To move things along a bit more quickly, next time run a Disk Cleanup or run Ccleaner before you do the Malwarebytes scan and it won't take so long. It's probably spending most of its time scanning rubbish.

Also if I were you I'd remove Bullguard and install MSE instead.

why MSE over bullguard what's the difference?

why MSE over bullguard what's the
    difference?

Personal preference really. If Malwarebytes does detect stuff that got past Bullguard then that might be another reason.
