Hi I recently had a small accident in my mazda 3 07. the airbags in the seat went off. Does anyone know if its safe to replace them with ones from scrapyard and get the module reprogrammed?

Not sure a bout this specific module if it needs to be replced or reset but there shouldnt be a problem with replacing the airbags from the scrap yard. Id assume you plan to replce the entire seat. Usually with seats going off the seatbelt pre tensioner joins in on the bang. Have you checked the airbag ecu faults?

I took the car to mazda for a diagnostic test. They said there was an open circuit on both seat airbags but seatbelt pre-tensioners didnt show anything? there is crash data stored on the airbag module. I have removed the airbags myself. Im going to replace the airbags not the whole seat?
