I personally could not care less.... since I won't be inside watching those "Low-Lifes" ring in the new year, when I could be out getting hammered whilst ringing in the new year. :)

i'd rather spend the night with my family than watch RTE to be honest!

The op is probably one of those people who would complain if RTE spent a fortune on doing some big celebration as well as it would be a waste of money, one thing Irish people have proven over the years is that you can keep some of the people happy some of the time, but they'll still find something to whinge about.

Will there be a good one this year because of the new decade starting?!

    /contoversial...

    Oh the ironing!

Am I whinging about your post, as you were about his? If so, and if you quote this, you are whinging about my post. We will continue in a whinge cycle till one of us goes to bed. You know you want to...

I can't stand New Years as a holiday and I can't stand RTE, so RTE + New Years is far from my idea of a fun night.

Seriously for the Millennium I wanted to stay in with my mum and dad and not get drunk, so brought in the new Millennium drinking tea and watching BBC and the Millennium Dome and the fireworks along The Thames with them :)

Was so much more enjoyable then being out that I have done the same every year since :P:)

I bet you expected the replies to this thread to be different.

If one channel is providing you with what you want, the BBC in this case, why don't you watch it?

I spent the majority of last New Years Eve with my head in the nightclub toilet.

I'd do that again before I watch RTE :pac:

RTE to close down would be a happy new year.

That was last year . 2009 was last year of the last decade. 2010 first year of this one

Actually, this year is the end of the decade, 2011 will be the first year in the next decade. There was no year 0, the first year in the Julian/Gregorian calendar of the current period (AD) was the year 1AD. :D
