Microsoft word not opening

    i have just finished a college report and saved it properly etc. when i turned back on my computer its now telling me to
    "select the encoding that makes your document readable" nothing i have tried has worked. dont have time to re-do the hole thing and its worth to much to just leave it. need help guys!!

    Try opening word, going to open and select as file type "recover text from any file"

    have tried that and it gives me the option to recover but when i do it nothing happens and it leaves me with the same as before. i have tried e mailing it to and opening it but the same thing happens. any other ideas. thanks very much.

    What Version of Word is it ?

    Have you opened/edited it on any other PC/Laptop ?

    What operating system are you using ?

    We would need to know this to be of more assistance.

    managed to get it solved. emailed the file to a friend who was able to repair the majority of it. the only reason he could give was that i wasnt using an up to date version of wicrosoft word. a genuine thanks to everyone that helped. managed to get it submitted on time :D thanks!
