Have to drive from Limerick to Donegal town tomorrow - just wondering does anyone know if the roads are ok? I'll be taking the N18, N17 and N15.

Snowing on the N17 atm (Outside C/Galway) about 1/2 inch...not sure about the N18 or N15.

I would imagine that the main roads should be fine. Just avoid side roads if possible.

I was in Liffey Valley around 5 p.m. today and it was like an ice rink. The roads and carparks were a disgrace with cars stuck and skidding all over the place.

A couple of staff in M&S told us that there is a dispute between the shopping centre management and DCC regarding who's responsible for gritting the roads around Liffey Valley. However, that doesn't excuse the state of the car parks.

When liffey valley was just opening, many, many moons ago, I was in the deserted carpark when it was covered in ice...

I hope you tested the surface so that fellow road users would be safe ;)

AA roadwatch website really is your best bet for reasonably current and accurate reports. At the moment they have this on your route:
*CONNAUGHT* *N17/SLIGO* Delays between Tobercurry & the N4 Rathrippon jct due to a jack-knifed truck blocking the N17 Galway/Sligo Rd at Tobercurry. *
