Hi and apologies if I am not using the correct forum.

Could anyone tell me what this route is like this evening?

I have to drive home from Loughlinstown to Newbridge at about 8'oclock tonight. According to the AA website the road is 'treacherous' and blocked at Kildare, but a friend heading from Newbridge to Offaly earlier said it wasn't too bad.

I am very nervous about making this journey if the roads are bad (M50 & M7) and as I also have to be back here for work in the morning, I am wondering should I just book into a hotel for the night?

    Thanks in advance.

Ive just come from Kildare town. Some parts of the M7 are okay, but other parts are very icy. There's been another fall of snow since 6pm. More snow is expected overnight. If you are nervous and have to be back up for work anyway, I'd recommend staying over.

Need to head down to clane/sallins area on thurs. Anybody know how the roads are holding up in that area? wont need to be there till 11am ish so wont need to deal with rush hour.

Checked the AA site and all it says is they have reports that clane is icy. Some first hand info on how bad would be greatly appricated. thanks

In Clane - it had started to thaw a good bit but more snow has fallen in the last hour. Walked down to the shops earlier and it was pretty brutal, a bit of grit on the paths wouldn't go amiss! The main roads are very slushy and if that freezes this evening it could make things pretty scary. It's meant to be worse in Sallins/Naas but sure you've still another whole day and a half, things will have changed drastically by then (whether for better or worse who knows!!)
