HELP: Memory card stuck in DVD/CD slot

One of the kids put the memory card from my camera into the DVD slot of my laptop. It's a Dell Studio 15 with built in DVD bay so can't remove it. Have all sorts of ways to dislodge it and tried shaking it slightly. Any ideas or where can I take it?

Is it a tray loading one have you tried the emergency eject on the drive, there should be a tiny hole (usually on the right hand side), you can push a straightened paper clip through that to open the drive and you may be able to wriggle it out.

If its a slot loading one pm me the service tag of the laptop and I will see if I can get any service manuals that might help.

Service Manual for the Dell Studio 1557 is on the website so if you are competent with precision screw drivers it should be fairly straight forward.

make sure you remove the palm rest first:

Once you take the drive out you will be able to take it apart or replace it.
