I'm looking for a laptop circa 500euro as a part of a Christmas present. The laptop will be used for general family and home use like watching videos, photo editing, email, browsing, skype, possibly some home work and also a small amount of gaming ! I'd like to have the laptop for a good few years - so I'm looking for something sturdy and that isn't going to be out of date within a year or so.
I saw this laptop on dabs for 480 eur...

Is this deal too good to be true - a Core i3 laptop for less than 500 eur? Do you think that the reason for the lower than I would have expected price is because it's only got 2gb RAM and a 250gb harddrive?

Please let me know if this is a good deal or not - I'd hate to end up with 2 turkeys on Christmas day!
