Put Hitachi Drive in My Book Studio 2 Case

I have a mybook studio II drive, I took the 1TB out and put it in my Mac Pro and am wondering can I put a hitachi drive into the enclosure? I tried it and it didn't work but I was very rushed and don't think the drive was getting enough power. I want to hook it up by FW800 ideally Any thoughts?
