I was out walking the dogs early last week on the site of an old monastry near home. To be honest the area looks like a billiard table top with a few mounds around one patch, nothing special, there is a couple of white thorn trees amongst a bunch of stones like an old fence in one section and my dogs chased a rabbit back to it's burrow. They started to dig away throwing dirt up behind them, my jacket was hit by a small object which I fancifully think is a broch pin.

Where do I take it to have it looked at, bearing in mind it could be a piece of old wire and I dont want to waste anyones time.
