    Hi all,

I am confused to what i should buy....

I have alot of media on my pc such as mkv and blueray rips, some of them are up to 15gb each. I would like to stream them wirelessly from pc if possible to my TV (42" philips)

Now i want something that will play these at no problem but also want to watch online content when possible and a small bit of internet.

    My options are

mac mini - worried about price and how easy it is to change settings (VPN etc)
boxee - seems to be good
revo 3610/3700- will it play blueray rips @ 1920x1080 ok/slow performance
    apple tv - powerful enough?

What you guys think the best bang for the buck is that will match my needs

First off , wireless will struggle with 1920 x 1080p rips , have you considered homeplugs ? Wired is much better at this type of thing , and even homeplugs will outdo the best wireless connection.

Its expensive , yes , but will handle almost anything , however it wont do HD audio if thats important to you.

boxee - seems to be good

This is more of a Software platform than a hardware device , it will do what you want provided you have the correct hardware to run it on , the mac mini is a good choice for this , it will also run on a Revo , but obviously the Revo has a lot less horsepower under the hood and may struggle with the higher bitstream content.

Ive seen this struggle with high bitstream content , such as 1:1 BD rips , but should handle most content.

No its not , and its limited to 720p , that and you'll have to transcode the majority of your content to a format playable by this device , its one of the weakest on the market.
A WDTV live is a similar device for approx the same price and outdoes the Apple TV is every respect , you wont have to transcode your content either as the WDTV can play most formats as is.
