Im looking to buy a new laptop but i have only basic knowledge of them. I will be using it for music, internet, gaming and microsoft office generally. If anyone one can recommend some laptops i woould be very greatful.
Which brands are the most reliable...acer, hp or toshiba or any others. My price range is up to 500, 600euro.

    Thanks for any help.

Might be a bit out of your price range but I am currently looking the Dell XPS 15 at the moment for myself. Looks like a good spec and has been getting good reviews.

How is the sound with this new sub woofer that they installed? I find it hard to believe that you can get good sound out of a laptop irrespective of how good the speakers are on a laptop.

The sound is very good, its loud enough for me anyway. I wont be watching movies on it so its perfect for me, using it for youtube/games etc. Sub woofer really works, playing a dance tune now sounds proper compared to my last laptop:)

    Kev_ps3,

Looking at getting the XPS 15 myself. How are you finding it? Does the backlit keyboard come as standard?

I was also thinking about getting the XPS 17 with larger screen and the 1GB Geforce 435M card for €50 extra. Is this worth it?
