hey guys i just bought a second hand mtb ( a bionicon edison ltd 3) and im looking to replace the peddles as the ones on it are pretty roughed up and are clip peddles (i dont have the shoes for them) im pretty new to the whole mtb thing so im not too sure if all peddles fit all bikes? i was looking at these but im guessing il also need to buy a tool set in order to install them ? so any opinions on this also would be great (looking at a tool kit to carry around while im biking as well so any advice on tools in general would be great)

All pedals should fit all bikes. The right pedal comes off normally. The left one is reverse threaded. A long pedal spanner will probably be required. Park tools products are very good.

small adjustable spanner will get those on.

i think they are all pretty much 9/16 for mtb, hybrid and road bikes.

    15mm spanner will remove/fit pedals.
9/16" threaded pedal will fit, 1/2" threaded is BMX standard and wont fit

Clothes hanger and wd40 to get the grips off - if your planning to buy new ones go for lock on grips instead of glue on - bit more expensive but worth it imo.

Too much hassle - stanley knife will have them off in seconds.

And scratch the lovely carbon bars, even if it's covered by grips you'd still know it's there - how could you live with yourself :P
