I've 3 friends in first year doing this course. I know at least 2 of them considered dropping out. Maybe they're just lazy fúcks but it seems like alot of work. As for the maths, we share that module, MA1003. I did OL maths in the LC and this stuff is just a bit of a step up. That being said I'd do ALOT better if I went to it more often. I'll ask them about the Chem next time I see them.

I'm in the Environmental/Earth Sciences course and to be honest it's Physics and Biology that are the dodgy ones.

Chemistry is pretty much HL LC stuff except more detailed. I did Biology in LC too but they seriously step things up here. And having not done Physics for LC thats absolutely murdering me too. Maths is offensively easy so far and I only got a D3 in HL.

    Hi,

I did the first two years of this degree and then left college.

The course is very comprehensive and there is a lot of information to take in across a variety of subjects, it's very interesting and after first year it will definitely keep you busy.

I was very surprised as to the amount of biology in it, there is more biology than any other subject, and I as I did not do biology for the leaving cert I found it hard.

I left for a few reasons, I'm a bad student being the primary reason. The other reasons would be that the course was very ecology/biology orientated, something I'm not that interested in, I prefer the physics/chemistry side of it rather than the ecology stuff.

It's a tough course, and you earn your degree, but if it's the type of thing you'd be interested in then definitely give it a go. If you prefer chemistry or physics more then I suggest you try chemical sciences or one of those related degrees, we had a lot of shared modules with them.
