    Hi all,

Just letting you know that the wholesale cost of fuel is increasing tonight by about 2.6c Derv and 2.8c UNL, by the time Vat gets added its going to be between 3 and 4 cents increase.

Will start hitting the pumps between tomorrow and Monday depending on the brand of station.

so if you are getting some fuel tomorrow etc and you can afford it, it might be worth filling the car up.

    Regards,
    HT.

Don't worry, you're not missing out on a big saving. 50litres @ €0.04/l would only add €2 to your next fill.

I got an email from DCI yesterday to say my diesel would cost 100.9c (ex VAT) from midnight last night. Got another from them this evening to say that from midnight tonight the price will be 103.4c (excl VAT). Diesel in my neck of the woods was 125.9c/ltr today this increase will bring it very near 130c. By the way DCI said the increase was "due to a substantial surge in the industrial rate":mad:

yes, yes, yes, but WHY is the wholesale price going up ?

The Euro is being battered hence the price is going to go up, also delivery charges have skyrocketed

....er with the greatest of respect I would suggest I know more about the costs associated with fuel deliveries than you.

Deliveries always go up at this time of year by close to 60%, this increase has nothing to do with any derv price fluctuation.

As if things are not bad enough. And with the proposed carbon tax increase u can add 10c to a litre from today's price. How is this going to make us competitive?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 482 ✭✭Spinnaker

Hmmm... More bad news :-(. I use iphone app pumps.ie to make fill up choices. Making the right choice can be up to 3 euros. Pays for the coffee that I always buy and satisfies a little commuter-consumer game that I play in my head while on the road . . .

About 6 weeks ago before Irish crisis the Euro was at it's strongest for 2 years, I didn't see any decrease at the pumps?

No increase across most of north city and ballymun/finglas area to date.

There were a few, however only 1cent increases. Perhaps this increase is not being passed on?

Unless Brian Cowan is double jobbing as an Arab shiek or running an oil refinery I dont see how this is anything to do with him.

so why does increased volume not lead to a price decrease like every other industry? also the Euro is not really being battered, its fallen a little but nothing to cause that kind of increase
