Those Orange Christian Brothers Copybooks

    Hi all

Does anyone remember those orange copybooks you
used to use for your homework in the Christian Brothers?

I remember there was one with a map of the world
with all the locations where the CBS had missions.

There was another one with the CBS crest and these
kind of compass points coming out of it, done in black
    ink.

I think they would make a great retro mouse mat design.

I remember them. They had the words of the National Anthem printed inside the back cover as well.

Did they have the old guaranteed Irish logo on them as well.

Was there A4 version for accounting or something?

Did it have a white cover?

I know it's not a CBS copy, but there was those ones from "Aishling Copybook" was it?

They had pictures of peole doing different sports on the cover.
These were usually white, and the ink was blue or maroon.

Again this would make a great mouse mat design or a shoulder
bag print for us trendy retro-metro-sexual types :)

I don't remember the Christian Brothers' copies but I do remember orange copybooks with a round tower on them...from primary school. In the film 'Ryan's Daughter', Robert Mitchum's teacher character is seen correcting copybooks and it's those copies. The film was set in 1916 but was made in 1970. I also remember handwriting copies with high crosses on them.

I remember those Round Tower ones as well. The name of the company
was written in black ink in a traditional Irish script.

There was a brand called "Capital" they used to make the copies for
Science and Accounting with the special margins.

Come on, someone out there must have one of these beauties knocking about,
I'd love to see some scans of these :

    EDIT: I found one here

Somewhere in my mother's house I must see if I can find my old CB homework diary.
Yellow,I think, with a kind of linen weave inside the cover for hardwearing.
I also used for charting Leeds Utd.'s progress in the European cup.So that would be 1975.
