I thought Snipes already was in jail and has been for a year now?

    From Blade Wikipedia:
In December 2007, it was reported that Wesley Snipes had launched a lawsuit against New Line, director David Goyer and the film's producers, because he was forced to give up screen time to Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel. Further, Snipes alleges he did not receive his salary upon agreement and was not afforded the decision-making power he was entitled to as a producer. Snipes is also optimistic that, once things are settled, there will be a Blade 4. However, on April 24, 2008, Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison for three misdemeanor convictions for willful failure to file federal income tax returns. Due to this, his role in future Blade movies is uncertain.

I did think Ryan Reynolds was the one of the best things about Blade 3 - but that was a bit of a trainwreck.

Idirs Elba aka Stringer Bell is in talks to take over. There's definetly going to be afourth film, it's just a matter of how soon

Unless the film is set in prison, the one Snipes is actually in, I doubt it.

God I hope Snipes stays as Blade or I will lose all hope for it..He is the main character in it. Film is named after him. I know the storylines are not very deep but its good kick back, no need to think, action. The soundtracks are pretty good too.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has also thrown his hat into the ring for every black marvel superhero including Blade, Black Panther and Luke Cage.

Ideally I'd prefer Idris be Blade and Adewale be BP.

As for Snipes, he's out of jail now, he did do Brooklyn's Finest afterall. Snipe's problem is just a case of him having zero chance of being asked to reprise the role.

Snipes jail term is only starting, he was on bail awaiting an appeal when he did Brooklyn's Finest. I think that as cool as Snipes was as Blade some fresh blood is needed, be nice if they let Goyer make his post apocalyptic Blade epic.

Eh? Blade is the main character and the film is named after him. Not Wesley Snipes. If Idris Elba or anyone else took over, they'd be playing Blade, not another character. Series could be rebooted too.

Goyer is a good writer but please god keep him away from the directors chair, Blade:Trinity was a travesty suddenly after a great Blade 2 we had a jive walking, wise cracking Blade with none of the original steel or charisma taking on the campest ,least scariest Dracula of all time.

I really don't see Idris Elba as Blade.

    What about Michael Jai White?
