So, I went to get a Rapid 3 last Saturday. The guy in the in the shop (Richies in Swords) recomended this Ridley instead:

They have an offer on it for €860. He said compared to the Rapid 3 its components are a lot better for the same kind of money, although, its less sporty.

They also have a Bianchi Cameolante Sport 1 for €779, which I seen in the shop, had a test ride and loved it, however, he insists the extra €80 for the Ridley is well worth it.

€860 is about €160 more than I had hoped to spend on the bike, as I need some gear too, trying to stay under the €1000 for the bike to work scheme.

    Anyone else agree?

I figure, with the tax saving, this equates to an iphone 4 plus a bit change, thats how I'm justifying it to the missus ;)

He is pushing the Ridley due to better margins than the Giant or Bianchi. Get the bike you like best.

I ordered the Ridley, hes a good salesman. Seemed to be better value in terms of parts, plus its a lovely bike.
