Hi lads. went to go to work this morning and my car wouldnt start on the first 2 attempts. it sounded as if it was going to start but then all the needles dropped to 0 and the clock reset itself. i turned off the wipers back and front and waited about 10 seconds and thn i tried starting again. same thing happened and this time i heard a click just as all the needles dropped to 0 again.

tried for a third time and it started but reluctantly. then once i was out on the road and i stopped at lights or whatever idling with my foot on the clutch the car would start dropping revs and the needle would dip to below the 1000 mark. the whole car would shudder and then the revs would pick back up to do the same thing about 2 seconds later.

    car is a 02 punto.

any ideas on what could be going wrong with it? and yes i know i need it looked at i just want an idea of what to tell the mechanic to look for.

    Thanks.

Sounds like your battery, alot of them have problems this time of year with the cold weather and that i would suggest going to a garage and getting it charged!

i wouldnt have thought so as with all the snow at the start of the year it had no problems. but in saying that i havent done anything with the battery ie. new one or charge this one.

thanks i'll get this done over the weekend.
