Hi all, new to this forum, so apologies for any rules breached etc.

Basically a colleague of mine is selling his camera with some equipment, I've always been interested in buying a somewhat decent camera, as Im sick of the standard cheap looking photos from the standard bunch.
Problem is I've no real experience or knowledge in the are.

Can someone advise on whether the below camera is good, and how much I should offer for his bundle if I were to buy it?

Thanks for any help/advice...can I point out that I am in no way selling the below Items, or trying to sell them on behalf of somone, they are not on adverts either etc. Its just a mail my colleague sent me. I just want to know how much it would be worth, or price to offer.

What condition/how old is it? Find out how many actuations/shutter releases/shots it's taken. Used, you'll want it less than 30k, all cameras have a certain life-span expectancy. Ranging from 50 - 200k.

I would say, if it's in good nick, and the camera bag is a decent one, €380 is a solid offer. It's basically the camera with standard kit lens plus some memory cards. Not a bad camera at all, great for a beginner. There are better ones out there obviously, but if it's a handy sale, and you trust the seller, not a bad deal.

There are brand new Dslr cameras to be had for that price though. Check out the likes of the brand new Nikon D3100 w/kit lens, probably about €500 but I'd have it any day before the older model you're considering.

You could have a Canon 500d with that kit lens for £473 on Amazon [€550 or thereabouts]

Tripod and remote don't mean much, unless they're good quality? You just want a decent camera with a lens plus memory card? I say do some searching. Come up with a budget and repost, easier for people to guide you then :)

You never did mention your budget.

can you find out the model of tripod and bag, and if the tripod is a head? they could be wortha combined total of 20 quid or 400!

380 would be the max id pay and only if it was a mate and it was in pristine condition. Buying from someone you trust is worth the extra few bob imo, oh and is the lens the "IS" (Image stabilised version or not)
