Just wondering what all the teacher bashing is for?? How come nobody talks about the nurses, their salaries and allowances?
#or all the middle managers created by the HSE in hospitals?
#or maybe gardai and their shift allowances/overtime/premium allowances?#or.......

Why do we attack the necessary and frontline public servants??why not focus on the higher echelons of the PS
    # consultants earning 200k+
    #doctors/dentists/pharmacists/physios' salary
    #HSE-those earning 55k+

    How about the following:
    #Taoiseach's salary
    #Ministers' salary
    #TD's salary

    #RIDICULOUS expenses for TD's
    #Number of TD's
    #Number of Councillors
    #Number of Senators

    also
#Advisers to the Ministers on 200k+
    #Cars/drivers/etc

Why not focus on the semi state bodies?
    #CEO ESB on 750k
    #CEO DAA 568K
    #CEO AN POST 500K
    #CEO COILLTE 417K
    #CEO BORD GAIS 410K
    #CEO B NA MONA 392K
    #CEO RTE 394K

Surely, twould be far more beneficial to focus on those other than at the frontline??

Don't get me started on the auctioneers, banks, developers, solicitors etc

Because if you cut politicians salaries down to a minimum we can save about 4million euro.
If we cut teacher salaries to a minimum we can save 800m euro.

Everyone should be cut obviously, but its a bit pointless talking about cutting the minister's salaries as if that's a fix all solution.

Yeah but its a start. We need leadership and we're not getting it from our donkeys in government. I think if people see those at the top getting a cut,it would definitely make it easier for everyone else to accept cuts..but of course that won't happen. They'll go after the easy targets:rolleyes:

Now now, it wont affect your pension :p. (Great user name btw)

Front line always take the brunt of the abuse. It's always been "look at the teachers, guards, whatever"

I'm in my job 13 years, and i always say if i were a teacher I'd probably be on double my salary by now. I chose this career though. If i thought teaching was so great i could have walked that path, i didn't. Because i don't teach i cant comment on how tough it may or may not be, but, if memory is anything to go by, my teachers were almost all basket cases by the time they hit 50. They earn their money if you ask me.

It may be pointless in the sense of the amount we'd save i.e. 4 million , but it would send the right message and be a good start .
And anyway can't understand why FF haven't done it already as a PR stunt its not as if its going to effect them in near future ;)
