For my Computer Studies I want to research websites that operate opposite to ebay, donedeal. For these sites people post what they want to sell and people bid. Does anybody know of a website that you can request a good or service and allow traders to bid the lowest price.

I notice that now with recession etc if you are prepared to you can haggle for goods and services in shops, car servicing etc etc.

Anybody know of sites that operate to the opposite to ebay ?

elance.com (coders and designers bid on work)
onlinetradesmen.ie (tradesmen bid on your projects)

thanks but those sites are very restricted, looking for something with a wider base.

anybody else know of any sites opposite to ebay but have a wider base than the more specialised ones mentioned

adverts.ie kind of works the same but its a forum post rather than a bid

Your idea sounds like a good one however

    Check this out http://pages.ebay.com/wantitnow/

I am doing a degree with Open University and I have covered Internet Applications, Interactive Design and Artifical Intelligence. I am now doing a project and have a few smaller assignments to do as well on Interactive Design. Design also involves Innovation so I want to com up with websites that are Innovative in the way the work. Looking at the amount of haggling going on which did not happen during the boom I think this is possibly the way to go. almost haggle.ie.

In any case I will check out askthediretory.com
