    Hi,
just browsing my flickr account and i couldn't download the original version of a photo "Flickr can't display this image because it has errors" is all it says.

I thought this was 100% safe for photo storage.

I have the original photo luckily enough on an external HD, but there is a lot of images that i only have on flickr.

    Anyone see this before ?

edit - **** now i just found another 2 photos that the original is missing, opening a case with flickr.

Could just be the individual server that the image is one is acting up, try again in a while and it might be fine. Whats the static URL for the original size image ?
And nowhere is ever completely secure. I'd imagine flickr's T&C's ccompletely absolve them from any eventuality involving your data, up to and including a complete data loss. There aren't any SLAs in place for mere consumers like us. Remember, if your image is in one place then it's not backed up, merely stored. You want to store it in at least two locations for redundancy.
