Apologies mods if there's a TNA megathread but couldn't see one in the first few pages, but if there is one feel free to merge.

So I was flicking through the channels and came across TNA on Setanta, first thing I'm greeted with his two people that were lifted straight out of Jersey Shore. Unfortunately my first instinct was to switch so that's what I did. :pac:

But can anyone fill me in on this guy and "Cookie"? Is the gimmick any good? Is he good in the ring? Or is it just one big fail? :p

I think you'd enjoy the characters if you're a fan of the Jersey Shore. Since I'm not, I find their gimmick awful. Why not create a character based on Jersey douches, as opposed to ripping them off (i.e. Zack Ryder).

He's OK in the ring (Cookie is horrendous -- not a wrestler) but he has the worst overacting i've seen in quite some time. It's like he's in a pantomime. When he gets punched he starts flailing his arms like a cartoon. I guess he's a comedy heel but he's not portrayed that way.

The "Gym Tan Wrestle" is a good catchphrase but the fist-pumping (and fist on his ass) come off as really just unoriginal ("hey look, this is from the TV show")

    Anyway they're a channel-changer for me.

I like him, and he had a really good opening match at Turning Point a couple weeks ago with Jay Lethal. Seems to be a good talker too. I also think Cookie is really good in her role, she's excellent on the mic, she's got a really annoying voice that goes right through you, which is her intention as a female heel i guess.

However, I don't think the iMpact zone have really taken to Robbie E yet.

I'm loving Robbie E and Cookie they really annoy me.
Robbie E's air pump is the best move in wrestling these days it fills me with hatred thus making TNA more enjoyable (yes I'm a mark):D

Fist pumping awesomeness. He's fine for a midcard comedy act and I love the fist pump.

I have to say, I did chuckle at his care free fist pump. :pac:

Pretty decent heel duo in fairness, not sure about their longevity though.

I hate the impact zone crowd too. Smarks that try get themselves over but are also curiously sheep-like with liking/disliking whatever TNA are trying to present. Annoying.

    I find them distracting.

Well I don't really have an overall problem with the impact crowd, but I do remember them chanting 'boring' during one of Robbie or Cookies promos, and I just hate any wrestling fans chanting 'boring', it's so disrespectful, even if the guy is a heel.

Good grief, I just realised that Cookie is Becky Bayless. How did I miss that before now?
