Ebert gave a scathing + very funny review....it's being universally panned, it's aimed at the Twilight crowd....it'll make a profit once it goes international + DVD sales. I'll watch it 'cause i like a bit of cheesy sci-fi, Twilight with aliens?....woot! j/k

Normally I'm all for some Friday night pizza, beer and a crappy film and if that film has Timothy Olyphany all the better. Unfortunately I Am Number 4 just looks atrocious on a level usually the sole domain of the Wayans Brothers if The Not Another series of cinematic abominations.

This article makes fir very interesting reading http://nymag.com/arts/books/features/69474/

ill probably go see this on wed as theres feck all else on in my local cinema that i fancy besides true grit , and im not in the mood of a western right now.

i dont hold out much hope as it does scream "twilight" alright , but its this or go see paul again.

    :)

Watched this about a month ago, tbh it was pretty lame....only good thing was Timothy Olyphant, scene stealer. But....the effects were fairly good, the final battle in the school/football field was great!, there was an excellent sequence when Quinn/Diana Agron falls off a roof and our hero pulls an epic save with cool wirework!

The story was crap, the acting dreadful, the aliens were comical, shapeshifting dog?....ok. As stated the only thing that saved it were some of the effects.

thought it was a fairly acceptable bit of fluff, interesting concept it must be said, if they made it a bit more hardcore they could probably made a decent series out of it (not that they wont try id say:D)

My expectations were so low I somehow ended up enjoying this. It's bad but it's not as offensively bad as twilight.

Just saw this movie. I dunno if it was because I watched it on an aeroplane or what, but I thought it was shyte. And no I wasnt' tired or jet-lagged, I was only dying to watch a movie. It's sci-fi for teenagers.

edit: let me re-phrase that: It's sci-fi for teenage girls and gay teenage boys.

Why can't straight males enjoy it?....not that i did, but to say ONLY gay men could ever watch it is a bit silly.

YUP, she was much better, Diana Agron is a horrid actress and overrated in the looks dept.

Watched it earlier today and really enjoyed it. From the reviews I was expecting Twilight in a high school with added shiny hand powers but it's a genuinely entertaining little sci fi film. The characters are likeable and the action is pretty damn well handled. The only real problem I have with it is the ending which looks like the writers simply took an unused season finale of Smallville and used it but that's only a small gripe. It's a film which will never change the world but I'd defiantly be interested in a sequel.
