The Beatles: Rock Band is the music game-experience that allows players to follow the legendary career of The Beatles from Liverpool, to Shea Stadium to Abbey Road!

An unprecedented experience through the story of The Beatles and celebration of their music and artistry. The game will allow fans to pick up the guitar, bass, mic or drums and experience The Beatles extraordinary catalogue of music through game play that takes players on a journey through the legacy and evolution of the band's legendary career. In addition, The Beatles: Rock Band will offer a limited number of new hardware offerings modelled after instruments used by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

Featuring the ability to play drums, lead guitar, bass guitar or sing three part harmony with up to three microphones, the game will focus on authentically recreating the feeling of performing The Beatles music on stage and in the studio.

The Beatles: Rock Band marks the first time that Apple Corps, along with EMI Music, Harrisongs Ltd, and Sony/ATV Music Publishing, has agreed to present The Beatles music in an interactive video game format. The Beatles: Rock Band will be published by MTV Games and developed by Harmonix, creators of the Rock Band franchise.

Lol, when Microsoft did the big Beatles thing at E3 (and chucked millions into the incinerator) I was amazed at their stupidity.

Millions of nerds tuned in worldwide live and hundreds of game hacks in the audience waiting for some games and a couple of old dudes come on stage and get no reaction whatsoever.

I don't know who makes these decisions but it seems more and more obvious that these companies are run by people who don't know what they're doing.

I there any real point getting this if I only have the Guitar? Interested and have seen it at decent prices before but get the feeling playing a rockband game with only a guitar is gonna be pointless.

Not at all..

Drums also would be preferable, but a guitar will do grand.

I paid €20 for this a few months back from Argos, and it's still wrapped. C'est la vie!

Anyone know best/cheapest place to get the PS3 guitar, mike and drum set? My bro in law got the lot in HMV some time back for €60 but I cannot find similar anywhere. Is the hardware kit same for PS3 and XBox? - USB maybe.

Kids would have great fun on it!

Not sure about guitar at the moment, but HMV have drums on their own for 11.99, ps3 stuff wont work with xbox stuff and vice versa. Try Smyths maybe for the whole set.

I've got the full PS3 Band Hero set sitting downstairs in the sitting room (drums, guitar, mics) and the Xbox 360 Guitar and Drums upstairs in the spare room..

Haha, Your a braver man than I. I'll prob pick the game up for the Guitar side of things anyway as I do like the Beatles and a new set of songs is always welcome, especially at that price.

I think it would need to be Destiny's Child Rockband or something like that to pique the wifes interest in a sing along. I'll test the waters this evening but I imagine they'll be icy

I saw the Beatles Rockband in Tesco's Extra store in Naas for €10 on both ps3 & xbox 360.

.. if you've a HMV nearby, pop in as like I said above, I saw the PS3 version for €5.99.. but didn't see the Xbox 360 version. Odds are it's the same price.
