microphone on ipad

Hello all, the microphone on my ipad only works now when I shout right into it. This has happened since I updated the system. I can't understand it and I've tried Reinstalling the os but still no luck. What's my best option send it back to apple for repair its only a few months old.

I no it only works when roaring into it because if skype calls and tom the talking cat
