I am new in Ireland, and try to find good doctors, so I need to find women gynecologist in Limerick, who works in Saturdays... And if someone could help me understand about prices for check up. Thanks :)

Hi Patricija, and welcome to Ireland.
I don't know any gynaes in Limerick but I think it is highly unlikely that you would find one to offer an appointment on a Saturday.
In Ireland, most consultants see clients and perform surgery from Mon - Fri and if they have to work Saturdays, it is usually to check on patients in hospital etc.
The public system is free but there is usually a long waiting list.
The private system (if you have private health insurance) is quicker but more costly. A first appointment can cost anything from €120 to €200.
    Good luck.

    Hi Patricija,

As far as I'm aware there's only actually one female gynae in Limerick and that's Cathy Casey in Pery Square.
Dr Slevin in Barringtons in supposed to be excellent, but he's male and you did specify female, but just wanted to let you know anyway :)
As the last poster said, the majority of consultants only work Monday - Friday, so it's unlikely you'll be able to see one on a Saturday.
I don't know about any particular gynae pricewise, but the majority of consultants are between €100 - €150 an hour.
Most GP's will do smear tests and things like that, so if it's just something like that you might just need to see a GP. Average price for a GP is about €50.
Hope I've been of some help :)

There is an absolutely outstanding Private Gynocologist in Castletroy who my O/H visited recently. Not only does she have the very best equipment, but her surgery is also absolutely spotless. She is German, extremely friendly, and practising here for a few years now. Her name is Dr. Beatrice Neufelt, 22 University Court, Castletroy, Limerick (061)338888. Give her a call for consultation fees and appointments, not sure if she works weekends.
