    Subject: Canvassing Tomorrow (Thursday)

    Hi everyone

We're hoping to get out on the doors canvassing tomorrow evening for a short while. The weather is expected to be cold but calm. We're planning to meet at 6:30 in the Constituency Office. With Monday's announcement we are well and truly in election mode, and despite the difficulty of the task at hand in Government we do have a little breathing space to help conduct a better, more thorough campaign.

Would greatly appreciate it if you could come back to me to let me know if you can make it tomorrow. We have well-thought out counterpoints and lines covering all the major events of the past fortnight, and as usual we have all the equipment you need.

    Many thanks
Saw this on another forum. It doesn't say anything about trying to help the Irish people at this critical moment, but at least we can be happy they have "well-thought out counterpoints and lines covering all the major events of the past fortnight". Basically it seems their election plan is to spoof the public, Im sure they've learned plenty about how to do that over the last few years.

Odd that they only feel the need to counterpoint the last fortnight, but it should make their canvassing fun if they haven't prepared counterpoints to their sickening choices up to now.

I won't be asking about last week; I'll be asking about their lying down with dogs, NAMA, Anglo, and the abandonment of their "polluter pays" concepts.

P.S. is "gmail" shorthand for "greenmail" ?

Excellent and very valid observation. The greens will be obliterated in the next general election, im predicting perhaps one seat. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

gmail account, I call foul on this one. Also, why would Eamon Ryan be sending out a general mail like that? Don't the Green's have the equivalent of cummans that organise things on their own?

the greens are finished they have completely alienated the population ... their sole contribution to government has been suggesting a bunch of tax and cost of living increases for the general public

Well they can start whatever they want, but it'll more than likely end in no seats for them.

    And good riddance.

I feel sorry for those people who voted for them in '07 in the assumption they wouldn't enter coalition with FF.

Not feel sorry in a heartfelt way though, more like a Nelson Muntz way. Ha-Ha.

I voted for Gormless, sorry Gormley, both in 02 and 07. :(

Your last line is uncalled for - what men/women of integrity did you actually vote for before?

I voted Lab in those elections, not because I'm left leaning or socialist, I'm sure there are Lab members on the take too, I just cant bear the civil war horsesh!t and feel it needs to go.

Have never voted (and never will) FF SF, Green, PD, and a lot of the Ind's in my area are/were basically FF'ers.

Unless you are in a high ranking public sector position, then your vote for Labour was just as useless as mine.

Champagne socialist windbag Ruairi Quinn is one of my TDs - enough said!

Agree with your civil war politics argument though.

Thanks, I'm glad you see where I'm coming from on that.

Its just this country doesn't have a proper left/right divide, instead its whose grandad shot whose grandad 80 years ago, and both grandads were conservative catholics, so it mattered little as to which one survived.

Needs to move the f**k on and give people a choice.

I always vote and I've always given the green candidate my number 2. I will never vote for them again. (or any splinter group that comes from them).

I will certainly be giving any green canvasser a number two if they come to my door .

a whole bucket of 'em in fact.
