Is lack of HD TV killing the game for me??

Hi all, I got BLOPS last week, cleared campaign, and then started on multiplayer. But Im finding that Im hating online play, because more often than not, I dont see enemy players untill Im as good as dead.Iv only played <10 games, but find I cant stand the game. My query is, would I find the game easier to play if I had a HD telly?? Im not gonna buy one like, but is this the reason Im finding it so hard??
ps I know Im crap anyway, like, but I found WaW, Cod4, and MW2 away easier.

pps maybe Im just fed up of FPS?

It was a massive factor for me alight after my brief spell away from gaming earlier this year. Didn't cop onto the fact that I didn't plug in the HDMI cable so was playing in standard definition for a few hours. I thought I was going blind. It wasn't till a few hours later till my idiocy was pointed out by my brother

But yeah in short, I couldn't see anything until the enemy was virtually in kicking distance of me and struggled to go positive.

Even with HD on I find it hard to see other players sometimes, that said, it's probably better seeing it on a small HD tele then one of those big widescreen HD ones.
Also yeah HD is a godsend on small tele's.

HD makes a huge difference to the experience. I doubt it would make you play significantly better but you would improve a bit. Generally when starting a fps you get killed a lot until you start to learn the maps.

I initially hated this game but it started to grow on me and now I'm at the stage where I can think of little else.......well at least while I'm in work

I play in SD and I do pretty good usually. Top the leaderboards alot. I can't help but wonder if I'd get better if I bought a better TV.

Tv subforum or Bargain Alerts Request to look for a good priced tv if you want a specific size/spec etc. or if a new good price tv comes on sale, Bargain Alerts

thanks for all the replies lads, i fiddled with the contrast, brightness, and sharpness settings and its a lot better, im enjoying it a lot more.
im still bad, though, just less so!!

I use my xbox on a 22 inch lcd pc monitor thru vga, 720p mode,MAYBE you could buy a secondhand vga monitor 70 euro on adverts.ie, most shops sell 360 vga cables, eg game,dixons .25 euro.
I cant imagine playing black ops on an sdtv ,its makes it hard to see match results,statistics ,player names ,its designed for hd mode.
set 360 dashboard to hd,720, or whatever resolution you want, i prefer 720p mode.
vga is just as good as hdmi in my opinion,my samsung display is steady ,even tiny fonts easily readable.

I got a new tv today

a small 32" one, I was playing on the 46" and ill tell you this playing on a 32" and sitting up closer shows me how bad the graphics are in black ops

I play on a computer monitor like this but it takes a little tinkering to get the sound output through to speakers since computer monitors don't have speakers built in. I have used this TV for gaming also and found it quite good, if you're on a budget.
