Black Ops causing PS3 to freeze up during multiplayer

Its been happening to me since the patch. Only during multiplayer I've a 2 month old Slim. Happened to me three times tonight, only thing you can do is power down on front of console. Apparantly Teyarch are looking into it

* • Prevention of Gunship failing to give player full control under rare conditions
* • Prevention of a rare issue where a player will get teleported outside the map boundaries under very specific circumstances
* • Resolved several issues with PS3 parties getting disbanded for next patch (1.04)
* • Investigating reports of “Transmission error” message on PS3
* • Investigating PS3 hard freeze reported to happen for a small number of users in multiplayer
* • Investigating reports of VOIP icons not always appearing for some PS3 party clients

Anyway who else is freezing up on Black Ops and who isn't?

id probably get 1-2 freezes a day

its funny when someone in your party goes offline for no reason you'd know more or less their ps3 has frozen

I haven't played this yet, so I don't know, it happened to me once on Mw2 an I was pissed off, 2 away from a nuke or somethin but if it happens on the game that much I don't think ill bother even getting it,?

The game is a joke on the ps3 compared to the xbox ,laggy,frame rate is terrible .It seems Microsofts $ helped xbox get a proper version.

Havent had any freezing since the first week, get the transmission error alot tho. Thank **** they've actually come out and said they know about it... absolutely no response on their forums about all the **** with the PS3.

And as much as i hate to say it, your wrong headshot.

Do you own both consoles man cause ive stopped playin on ps3 about week ago,reading a lot on message board on callofduty.com people saying the game was made for xbox then a half ass ported job for ps3 and pc .Ive seen vids of bo xbox MP and it looks a hell of a lot smoother than the $**** on ps3

I have a PS3 and only had a handful of problems online other than the host disconnecting when I''m doing relatively well. Why do they never disconnect when I'm 3-11?

I had freezing before and after the patch, not too often but it's been so annoying the times it's happened (usually when I'm having a great game, less so when having a crap game )

I froze last weekend on the ps3 and wont be going back to it until the issues are sorted.

@ Headshot , i dont have a frame rate problem on the xbox , matchmaking can be a pain in the a*se at times but usually is ok .

I just had my first freeze in a midde of a game there, I usually get them during host migration or at the menu but never in the middle of a game

Had my 1st two freezes yesterday afternoon. Nothing else besides that.

i get at least 2/3 freezes every time i play.

the only option is to turn the power off on the PS3 ...

- happened again last night .. had completed a couple of challenges in game
and all the xp / bonus for it ... plus the game doesnt show up on "My Recent Games" list.

Don't expect a fix for this anytime soon, in response to someone on Twitter who mentioned the freeze issue 'Vahn' said "We have not seen this issue here at the office. Need to repro to fix it"

I thought Vahn had seen the freezing happen...but that they didnt know what was causing it....

I get the freezing issue a lot and yesterday I started to notice portions of the graphics effed up (big squares full of little multi-colored squares) Is this the end of my 2/3 month old slim? Or is it just a black ops problem? I have searched google and found nothing about this problem, techys please let me know your opinion.

I've had 2 freezes, both when I tried to join a friends party. I've also had the screen just go black for like 2 seconds at a time a handful of times, one which led me to get a pretty awesome blind knife kill

Other times, the lobby has flickered a lot.

So buggy. So incredibly tempted to trade it in already.

The last time i played was 3 nights ago.

Out of the 6 games i joined, all 6 failed.

The last of which froze the PS3 altogether.
Until they bring out the next patch I'm just not going to play.

Its a pity because i was really getting into the wager games and the zombie games are good fun....

Well it's a known Black Ops issue but if you are seeing it in other games then maybe you have a PS3 problem. I doubt it though, I'd say it's just Black Ops.

I've only had it happen about 12 times now but if I'm playing for more than two hours or so then it's a certainty to happen at least once.

Mine is one of the original 60GB versions (4 USB ports etc) and I'm getting freezes.

Played last night for over 2 hours and didnt get any freezing, lag, disconnected games or rage quitters ....WTF!?!?

HAS SOMEONE FIXED THE GAME?
