clutch went on my 98 coupe last week, got a new kit for €120 while an ex-mechanic neighbour spent 3 days trying to get it working....no luck and he is baffled to what it could be

anybody know a rough price of what the labour will cost me? (new clutch kit is fitted but not working)

You would pay around €80 per hour labour. But you have 1 of 2 problems,

    1. The wrong clutch has been fitted.

    2. You mechanic is usless. A clutch and DMF change for a garage would onlt take around 4 hours on say a Mondeo, where sub frame etc has to be removed. To spend a few days trying to figure it out doesn't sound good.

Or you could have the 2 problems...

Where did you get the clutch? What make is it? Did you get a 3 piece clutch, ie Clutch Disc, Pressure Plate and release bearing? Do you have a part number for the clutch kit you got?

Hes probably put the disc in the wrong way around.

As far as I can remember these are "pull" clutches as opposed to push clutches.

If hes never done a Hyundai clutch before its a common mistake to make and Ive seen numerous mechanics make the same mistake.
