    while out pheasent shooting today i seen a few teal on a small slop of water so marked them for this evening . Few decoys out for 4.45 sat in the ditch waited and waited said to my self waste of time but max me lab ears stood up 6 mallards flew by up 2 shots 3 dropped :rolleyes: 2 dead one broken winged max picked them up one at a time back in the ditch . I heard the teal in the distance head down the came in picked out one as it turned dropped him there was 2 landed the got up and dropped one more good evening sport . I gave it ten more mins heard the beat of wings ducks were back could not seen them send max out the got up seen one and gave it top barrel it landed in the field max done is job good retrive finished up with 4 ducks 2 teal and 2 pheasents 3 woodies for the days shooting

    Thats a nice bit of shooting is there a good few ponds around the area. The fridge/freezer must have plenty of duck in it at this stage.

    hi jwoods i have 4 ponds to mind hard enough to do but when the shoot the do shoot todays evening shooting was just by chance seen the teal water will be gone in a day or 2 but i have the spot marked down :) for a wet time ducks will take evey chance the can get on the flight lines and see what in between them and were there going works for me i picked it up from one of the old timer wildfowlers in wexford years ago

    I do a got bit of duck shooting myself all mainly done on large lakes that has its good days and bad days, are all the ponds looked after by the gun club or is this your own set up.

    there my setup not worth the hassle because lads wont look after it and will over shoot it the greed factor sets in wont leave anything else for the next person. when it comes to feeding no one would be seen until shooting time its my veiw on it if its not broken dont fix it

    i agree lamper 35 its more than half the work most lads can shoot but its up to the dog to bring it back in black dark in all weather conditions tonight was cold -2 here now the lab is fast asleep under the cooker :D with the pup beside him changed his food yesterday by god it stinks coming out the other end silent by violent :eek::eek:

    Good work - Teal are particularly hard to nail compared to mallards in my experience:)
