Has anyone else noticed when they switch off there desire hd that its not actually off??

I noticed this when i was trying to boot into bootloader and i had to remove battery and put back in before buttons would work.

if you turn phone off and leave it for few mins hitting power button brings up the lock screen straight away???? That can not be right i mean no boot screen or anything just straight back into the phone.

Its not a problem. Fast Boot is a feature of newer HTC phones.
It's like hibernation mode on the PC (it stores a snapshot of the phone and uses that to boot up really quickly)

You can turn it off by going into settings / applications and unticking "Fast Boot".

Would still take a little while to boot up, but are you turning it off fully, by holding in the power button till it asks if you want to power off or reboot, or are you just pressing the button so that the screen goes black?

I was holding it in and waiting till gave me options. All good though problem sorted

sorry to hijack the tread but I didn't think my question merited a new thread.

My question is; how do you delete a draft text our of your message thread to someone on the DHD? Always says saving to draft and cannot find a way to get rid of it.

    Thanks!

Open the "Messages" app, and find the contact you've saved a draft for (you will see "Draft:" in the visible line). You can edit it and just use the delete key to clear out the words.

Thanks, I can do all that but after that the only button to get out of the message is the backup button (bar the send button) resulting in the draft staying?

That happened to me recently too, it should work the way Mr E said and it has worked on my DHD since I bought it and behaved that way on the g1 when I was using it, but it is just a bug I think... I'm not even sure if I resolved the problem I think I just gave up and left the draft there or maybe sent a blank message...

Thats the problem with these fancy ass phones, buggy as ****, but also cooler than ****!!

If you delete all the text, the draft is cancelled automatically. I just tried this out on my own DHD.

It has worked for me most of the time to just delete the text in the draft and it just goes away, but I have also experienced the draft that wouldn't go away properly. It's a sometime bug...

In fact I just checked again and my draft from a few weeks ago is still there and I tried deleting the text a couple of times just now and it just doesn't want to go away, but its no biggy I don't care too much...
