Coverage and opinions on "The Plan"

So I tuned in briefly online today to hear the announcement and again to hear the comments on RTE afterwards, and was just plain annoyed - not withe the plan, or Cowen etc (well deff. annoyed with them too...), but with the fact that when I tuned in one of the union leaders was commentating on the plan. Why? I would like to hear expert opinions on this plan......not the opinions of someone who clearly has nothing to contribute and has his own agenda. Why on earth is a union leader (not elected by the people of Ireland to speak for them) given national airtime on a day when people are looking for clarity on how this plan will affect their livelihoods? Am I the only one who feels it is inappropriate to have him comment on things like this?
