proposed minimum wage cut

    sorry mods if this is posted in the wrong section
    with all the talk about the min wage being cut by €1 per hour to €7.65 what or where would people stand if they are getting more than this lets say €9-€10 per hour or if people are getting a flat daily rate of pay will all wages have to be cut or is it only new employees starting a new job

    If you are earning €9-€10 an hour currently, your employer obviously doesn't feel he needs to pay you the minimum, so your rate of pay might stay the same. However, if your employers competitors reduce the wages of their staff, your employer might have to follow suit in order to remain competitive.

    Short answer, it depends on your employer.
