Just got a laptop from college but sadly it's using a core i3 with integrated intel HD graphics. Was pondering this DIY ViDock thing on NotebookReview forums, but I'm pretty broke right now. What should I be looking at in the €50-80 range for a GPU?

Moved to Laptops. Well, it was a coin-toss between here and Tweaking & Modding :p

    Without the VIDock? Nothing.

With one? Unless you hack the broken AMD drivers you're really looking for a cheap second-hand nVidia card, say GTS250. Of course, you also need to buy the VIDock stuff and a (small) PSU for the graphics card too!

If you are willing to do the PCIex1 hack then try to find a second-hand HD4770/5750 as they're darn frugal.

I was more asking about a cheap GPU in the bargains thread, than the process of making the ViDock. Thanks for the recommendations though.
