I have a DTT aerial and can pick up all the other channels (RTE 1, 2 TG4 etc), but not TV3. Any ideas what I need to do to get Win 7 media center to pick up this channel?

Just works for me, inc MHEG5
You sure it's not a hybrid tuner and you are on Analogue?

Do you get RTE News now & the "DAB" RTE Radio stations?

Screen shot of all channels (not from WMCP)

BTW no such thing as a DTT aerial.

    I just checked, TV3 & TV3e still working here.

Bet OP is on an analogue relay, I bet there is no RTE News Now channel either or radio stations.

If radio and no RTE News channel then probably mpeg2 only if DTT

it is a hybrid tuner card alright. I will see if it's using the analogue part or digital. from memory , I do get the RTENL channel but will check for the news and other radio channels tonight. Thanks for the feedback.

The other thing is that it writes the channel lists to some sort of text file, if you deleted that it would have to rescan from scratch and it may work then. You are looking for a file that opens in notepad and contains clear text like RTE or RTÉ or RTENL in there. Could be called channels.txt or scan.scn or pid.log or epg.dat or anything really, it would be small 1k-5k in size.

RTENL is a HD mpeg4 channel, if you have that and can see it ( picts of Dub/Galway or a red bar on a loop) then there is nothing fundamentally wrong with your setup bar this possibly corrupt listing.

The final possibility is that there is a max number of listings per mux( UHF channel) , the current lineup incl e3 and tv3 is now c.16 services per mux, you may be limited to 14 and have no permission to write any more to the channel list textfile.

In a case where having deleted the text file and rescanned different channels are missing but the total is the same that would appear the problem.

Getting around it , dunno, editing by hand maybe ?? Print the textfile out before deleting just in case. :)

A rescan found the missing channels. All sorted, thanks for the replies.
