i have endorsements on my licence from 6 years ago and only the other week i had to go to motor tax office to get renewed licence, nothing back yet so called them and they said its sent to the courts to be endorsed, is this right? do they still endorse your licence years after i am after being told by someone thata fter 3 years they dont and you dont have to declare it to the insurance, is this right?

    Endorsements last 3 years.

Declaration to your insurer depends on what you are being asked.

For example on new business it may say something like "have you in the last 5 years had any accidents, convictions, penalty points, or endorsements......". Answer this truthfully and fully and you'll be fine.

On an existing policy you are obliged to notify your insurer. Might not make any immediate difference, but it might well affect the renewal premium.
