Is there any job prospects for science graduates in the UK/Canada/Austrailia???

    Hey everyone!
I have just graduated with an honours pharmacology degree, despite looking relentlessly for jobs in Ireland I havn't even recieved one interview. I am told I am either too qualified or under qualified. What should I do next?? I simply can't afford to do a masters at the moment and I presume it probably won't help my prospect of finding a job. Is there anywhere in the world where they are crying out for science graduates at all? it feels I have wasted four years studying hard for nothing. Now I wish I picked a course with a more vocational role such as nursing or teaching as science seems to be pretty useless at the moment unless you undertake a PHD. I have applied for many work placement programmes with FAS but apparently im over-qualified even though its unpaid employment im willing to do anything just to get rid of sheer boredom. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I got some interest off some recruiters about a month ago in UK but it fizzled out quickly. Might try for sales over there soon, it's my other qualification. I'd rather get lab experience but it's impossible if you don't already have a few years on the cv. I'd just try the job sites if I were you.

I have a few friends that found work in the UK - both in Liverpool, in the pharma industry. From what I understand its more difficult in Oz and Canada - I hear that companies are reluctant to take on workers and spend time training them when the visas are generally for a year only. And most of them will not want the hassle of sponsoring somone for a visa when there are plenty of local graduates to choose from :( Im not really sure that just a degree would qualify you for sponsorship anyway if there is a skills list or anything like that - I would think a higher degree would be essential? Not 100% sure on that - but its definitely the case for the US

I am just uploading my CV on sites I google, it would cost a fortune to ring them, one lady did tell me it is better if you are over there and searching as they can ring you today and interview you tommorrow and possible start the following week.
