Hey im hoping someone can inform me on these things. My girlfriend hinted that she would like one for xmas. She is usually into costume jewellery or quirky type stuff, deffo not tacky stuff (excuse my snobbery) So im wondering where to go to get a nice one. Im friendly with the owner of a costume jewellery shop, should i start there?

    Any takers?

Try Swarovski... there are shops on Henry St & Grafton St or you can order online.

My sister is into quirky jewellery too and I got her a Swarovski charm braclet last Christmas and she absolutly loved it:D

Pandora do lovely braclets, I don't know the price of them but they are a lovely gift and it's love to get a charm as a suprise. My parents bought me one for my graduation last year and I got a few charms for Christmas and my birthday. The look lovely. The charms can go from about 20-30e to well over 100.

ok, so the deal is i just buy the bracelet, and the charms come after? Am i right in thinking the charms can be picked up along the way and added to the main bracelet? Sorry, i just want to have an idea of the philosophy behind these things before i go buying. Cheers for the reply by the way...mucho appreciated.

Buy the bracelet and maybe a charm or 2. You (and others) can then buy charms for birthdays and occasions. Maybe tell some family the brand you are getting so they can get more charms to start her off.

What do you mean by 'brand'? Why would that matter....

I'd definitely reccomend Pandora. Their range of charms is huge, so you'll definitely find something that suits her :)

I think it's ok for the clip on charms, but if you get the bead charms (pandora etc.) some brands don't fit on all bracelets (eg. pandora charms might not fit the chamilla bracelet etc.)

    Hi,

My girlfriend recently got a charm bracelet and im planning on getting her a nice charm for her birthday.

Her charm bracelet is from Links of London, do i have to buy the charms from Links or are they universal??

    Thanks

    M

I asked for one of these for my b-day off my boyfriend but when he went to buy one it worked out cheaper to buy a pandora one:confused:

apperently most of the shops here only stock the expensive braclets

house of fraser have a good selection, also fields have a good selection and you can get a discount card for fields just go in and ask for it. you get 15% off jewellery and 10% off pandore and i think thomas sabo. I think the pandora rope bracelets are lovely... something different instead of the normal silver one

I'm getting a Thomas Sabo charm bracelet for Christmas.
Pandora are nice, but expensive, considering there are others that are just as nice. They're only the most popular because they're the most well known brand, but there are others.
Links of London are expensive also. I'd recommend Thomas Sabo.

Unsure of the versatility of charms, but I'd imagine most charms are universal. I'd hate to think I could ONLY buy Thomas Sabo charms now.

Get maybe 2 charms for her, and suggest it to her family so they can get 1 or 2 also. You don't need to fill the bracelet!! Charms should be added over time in relation to things/events that your gf likes/has experienced, to make it meaningful and persona.

You could just get a normal unbranded charm bracelet. It's what I got 5 years ago and I have been able to fit most charms of any brand (minus pandora of course) onto. It also makes it easier for people because they don't have to look for a certain brand and also aren't limited to the price range of that brand.

I've managed to get charms for my bracelet all over the world!
