Got this on Monday from Power City but don't have a proper aerial yet to try it out but getting a bit worried that it may not be MPEG4 compliant as I can find nothing in the manual to confirm this.

Have also googled around a bit but no success. :(

I have an LG M2262DL Monitor and it works fine with the Irish DTT. Ita also says Irish digital ready in the ad

Even though it's not Saorview compliant it appears to have an MPEG-4 decoder. Power City indicates this by including "Irish Digital TV Ready" in the product information.

Agreed but just annoying I can't find any confirmation of this anywhere, only come up with Std freeview DVBT....tuner. Its also supposed to be TNT..have to dig up an aerial soon:D

    Any difference with model numbers:

    Ordered this: M1962D-PC AEK
    Got this: M1962D-PCL.BEKVLUP

It may be fine. if it isn't PowerCity will take it back as they have specifically claimed Digital Compatible.

(TNT isn't MPEG4, only TNT HD.)

Is fine. No MHEG5 as far as I know though.

Its HD Ready....have a screen shot which shows TNT (not sure if I got the shot from powercity site though)

Not too worried about mheg5 but there is an option to choose between teletext and MHEG, (but there is no number after MHEG)

LOADS of TVs are "HD Ready" and even "Full HD" and don't do, and never will do HD reception ANYWHERE, ever, via an Aerial.

MHEG5 is the only MHEG currently in use.

HD Ready only refers to the screen resolution. TNT HD or Freeview HD tv can handle HD broadcat in Mpeg4 H264 level 3.0(SD material) and level4.1(HD material) these are compatible with Saorview.

Freeview or TNT tv's with HD ready screens are mpeg2 only and will not work with Saorview

EDIT :- That TV is TNT HD certified and will work with Saorview. As it's also freeview certified it has MHEG5, but the firmware may cripple MHEG5 depending on the country selected.

Finally got back to checking this out for DTT and got all the stations with a normal to good signal level by just placing an aerial like the this on the coffee table in the living room.

    mykindofaerial.jpg

and pointing towards the infill transmitter, (horizontal) so happy enough to bung it up into the attic and go with that. Teletext seems to be working fine on it also which was a bit of a surprise as I tought without MHEG5 I wouldn't get anything.

Next Problem: How to connect the DTT Aerial & Cable to TV, do I just need an RF Splitter or is there a better way of going about it.
