Hey guys, I'm moving into an apartment at the weekend that has the NTL boxes already installed, i've checked with UPC & all there packages are available in the area so i've ordered the self install gear. Will I need to contact them to "turn on" the account in order for the box to pick up a signal?

Typically they send you out the box and card, you hook it up then ring them and they activate it for you. Im not sure what the story is if there is already a box there; does it still work? They might send you out a new card which needs to be activated or else you might just keep using the equipment which is there.
