The Cork Suburban Rail (Irish: Iarnród Fobhailteach Chorcaí) network serves the Metropolitian Cork area.

Cobh Line: Cork Kent, Dunkettle, Little Island, Glounthaune, Fota, Carrigaloe, Rushbrooke, Cobh.
    Mallow Line: Cork Kent, Mallow.
*Midleton Line: Cork Kent, Carrigtwohill, Midleton.

Planned Stations:Killbarry, Blarney, Monard, Dunkettle, Carrigtwohill West, Ballynoe.
Does anyone know if construction has started at these planned stations or are the still going to be built?

None of them are funded. Carrigtwohill West, for Fota Retail Park, depends on funding from the retail park.

Some of the stations, certainly Kilbarry, have planning permission.

But are they still going to be built with the recession?

    Any news on new stations?

What happened with the dunkettle station?

No. It'd have been posted here if there was.

Also Dunkettle Station won't happen until the M8/N25 interchange is sorted out.

Which will by default remove that ludicrous situation of providing access to a P&R from the Dunkettle roundabout.

I'd think its more likely that it won't happen at all...

    .

Given the virtual absence of tenants, that ain't gonna happen!

A good place for a station on the network would be in Rathduff (Grenagh) As there has been a lot of housing development there in the past few years.

It is about halfway between Cork and Mallow with many commuting in both directions.
