Ok, tips needed for my first foray into Silkypix

Just made the jump up to a full manual, RW2-shooting camera and am very pleased with the prospect of being able to manipulate files w/a LOT more data in them in RAW format. Despite reviews to the contrary at various sites, I find the .jpgs this LX-5 take are great and have shown some here from a Yosemite trip on the main photo page. I was really looking forward to having even more control, more options, more detail, etc....

Then I opened up Silkypix, and realized that I was no longer in the happy, softly edged Kingdom of Panasonic PhotoFun5, nor even in the realm of relatively easy-to-understand Photoscape.

Quite apart from the utter lack of documentation (Thanks, Panasonic!) in the box that the disc came in, the controls are complex, there are function names I don't understand and I'm not even sure where to begin to start working on various areas of a single shot. I am a stranger in a strange land.

Can anyone offer up any basic fundamentals that address a rank and complete beginner like me for this software? Yes, I've heard the "just start moving some sliders!" bit, but I prefer coming from a slightly more informed standpoint.

    Thanks in advance,

    T3
