black and white telecaster with white rim

    Hi all,

    i'm looking to get my hands on a tele shaped suiter for about 400 quid. I want a black and white one like the one biran fallon is using below but i want it to have the white rim around the edges as seen here, Can anyone help me out?

    Off hand I cant think of any black double bound telecasters except for the Fender MIJ 62 RI which is around 650 new:

    With some patience you could probably find it second hand for your budget.

    Failing that you could always buy a regular black telecaster and use pin striping tape to simulate binding. I know that sounds terrible but you'd be surprised how good it can look:

    thanks fuzztone, i don't suppose you know where i might pick up one second hand, any good sites? I've had a look on ebay and i've had a look on adverts but no joy!! i'm just obsessed with the style of this guitar!!!!

    Does the Fender Aerodyne have the white outline? I think it could just be the side.

    They don't come up often so all you can really do is keep an eye out on the regular places.

    Another option is to pickup 3rd party body by Allparts, WD or Warmoth. I have a few Telecaster necks and I'm sure I could let one go pretty cheaply if you'd want one.

    thanks a mil for the offer, i'd just be wary of doing anything like this myself as i want to use this guitar regularly so we'll just have to see.....

    I'm with Fuzztone...
    I'd say get that body and pick up a neck and parts from guitarpartsonline.com and finaly go on ebay to get the best Duncans you can find and there you have it....a fantastic quality axe you've built yourself for under 400 blips and it'd be better than anything yer gonna buy for that price!
