My mum got a gift of a beautiful full length vintage leather coat from a family friend. It's in fairly good condition, but the leather is gone a bit dry and stiff and would benefit from some TLC. I would love to send it off to a professional as a treat for her.

Does anyone have any recommendations? It's quite valuable, particularly sentimental value, so I'm not happy to let any cowboy loose on it without checking them out.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone can recommend somebody - preferably Ireland but I don't mind sending it to the UK if it's worth it.

Hi OP, I don't know if you need to send it to a spa, this stuff is amazing:

It's leather cream and does incredible things to stiff heavy old leather (I've used it on a battered old weekend bag) and is only £10 per bottle! Might be worth a shot before you send it off?

    Thanks Chupi

I'm living abroad at the moment, so it would be easier if I could just be lazy and pay someone else to do it rather than spending my hols at it (it's full length, it would take a while!) but I'll try that product if I don't succeed.

Donnelly Leathers on Harcourt Street, Dublin do repairs, so they may be able to clean it up for you. They're very nice and have been helpful to me in the past. Link

Thanks Twee, I'll give them a call. They might know somebody if they can't help themselves.
