Was just reading this thread and I've got to say, I was surprised. I've heard nothing but good things about him when it comes to the fans until now. There was about four people in that thread alone that said he was a complete ****.

So my question is...have you met Cena and what was he like?

I got as far as the second namedropping of Cena. Is there anyone in that thread who said why he was the rudest celebrity they've met?

    Exactly.

I've heard that he's very good with fans.

It's a bit like Rory McIllroy at this years Irish Open. Person who i was talking to said he refused to sign autographs on a certain day - thought he was the worlds worst. Turns out he had a bad day and wanted to get back to his hotel etc. The day before he signed autographs for nearly two hours. You just can't please everyone.

I've met Cena and he was a gent. One of the nicest wrestlers I've ever met and I've travelled all over the World watching and meeting em.

Off topic, I was working at the Open this year in the media centre, McIlroy was a tool of the highest order with his €300,000 Audi! Clown!! Never engaged with anyone the whole time there.

On topic, met Big Show and Stone Cold in Dublin airport (by chance, coming back from Motley Crue in Cardiff) Big Show was sound, Steve, not so much, not at all!!!

A mate of mine met Cena few years ago in the states and said he was a gent.

Celebrities are people too. Sometimes they have a bad day or are very busy and cannot acquiesce to every need and whimsy of fans. Common decency would be nice but sometimes it is not possible to be accommodating to everybody. As long as Cena is nice to little kids (who are not old enough to know any better) that approach him, it is OK. Older people should know to give people their space when they need it.

I've met Cena 4 times now. Each and every time he's been a very approachable and polite guy. Infact, he seems to go out of his way at times to please everyone who wants a pic/autograph.
Perhaps those who say otherwise caught him on a bad day.Look at whats involved in their schedule after all - injuries, early mornings and constant travelling to name a few, and you can bet that his is one of the toughest.

As has been said, the problem comes with the fact that people won't always be having "good" days and I can only imagine how ratty I would be if I was engulfed by people every time I even went into a toilet.

On top of that thgen, good stories are often not told with the same passion and reptition as bad stories are. If someone pisses you off, you'll tell everyone and forever have a jaded view. If someone is nice, you're less inclined to constantly tell the story...

Some people think that not getting an autograph signed is a bad interaction. Getting told to **** off by Jimmy Carr is a bad celebrity interaction.

met cena in march 2004 and he was really nice, even did a rap for us, saw him when he was just starting in wwe back in 2002 too and again very nice

agree re: torrie wilson, but victoria came across as real nice too when we ran into her in the chipper next to piccadilly station in manchester few years back. maybe austin had a bad day?? because he has always had time for photos and a chat whenever i have seen him, down to earth you wouldn't believe he was the biggest draw in history

What do people define as being rude? If they say "sorry guys not today" or "I'm in a real rush" or just "not right now". That's not really rude is it, they can't be expected to always drop what they are doing for fans. Personally though I don't go out of my way to ask for an autograph, I don't really see the value of it.

John Cena's alright, but his Mexican cousin Juan Cena is suppose to be a right d*ck! ;)

    I've meet Cena twice.

The first time was at a signing after WM24 in Orlando. He had already been signing for about 4 hours, and he was still joking and laughing with the fans. He noted we were Irish and thanked us from travelling to the event. He took lots of photos and signed plenty of merchandise for younger cousins.

The second time was at the Clarion in Dublin after a house show. We were ready to go down and see a few stars when John came out of the room next to us. He always looks big on TV but to see the guy take up almost the entire hotel corridor is mad! You could see he was absolutely wrecked but was still polite and greeted us with "hey folks" and asked how we were.

Like him or hate him as a wrestler, hes a very nice guy.

Meet him in a pub in Dublin a few years ago (After a house show in the RDS) The girlfriend and I went to a pub after the event and got talking to the bar man (sound lad) give us after hours which was great. Was sitting by the window enjoying my few drinks and next there was a knock on the window, I looked out and it was JBL asking me to get the bar man. I told him the bar man and he let them in. John Cena was one of the wrestlers that came to the pub that night and we got talking to him, I have to say he was a super nice guy and he spent well over an hour talking to us, he even got us a few drinks. JBL was a dick that night, did get a pic with him but only after Cena telling him we were good people. Meet John a few years after that night in Orlando (Wrestle mania week) and it was the same thing again, super nice.
