Choppy gate pedal

    I'm playing around with a lot of sounds at the moment. I'm looking into gates to get a really choppy sound - kinda like Matt Bellamy with his Fuzz Factory, but without having to use fuzz with it. There's one on my EHX Microsynth and I have a Line 6 DM4 which has a fuzz factory in it with a gate knob but I want more control over it.

    Would the Boss NS-2 work or not? Or would any mass produced stompboxes do the job?
