    Hey lads,

I wanna buy a laptop for Christmas but never owned a laptop before, always been a desktop man. I was looking to spend 400 - 500 on it so looking for something basic but maybe update graphics card so i can play a few games on it.

Currys seems to have a good sale on their laptops at the mo in that price range. I want to stay clear of celeron processors but not sure what other laptop CPU's are like. Saw the sticky thread on top of this section so gonna stick to that.

Now, onto title of the thread. Does anyone know if Dell do good deals on their laptops in New years sale? Last desktop I got was from dell new years sale for 700, was 900.

Should i wait for new years sale or is it worth the wait?

    Thanks for any advice!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Dell start doing sales from around late January on . Maybe into Feb/March before they start .

I bought one about 3 years ago just after the New Year and there wasn't a sale on - was hoping there would be sales but just couldn't wait for one at the time .

It was a different climate back then also - jeez think it was four years now that I think of it
